RPGs and open-world games often have countless side quests. Do you think they add depth or just pad hours? Which game had the best side quests that felt meaningful?

Side quests can strengthen games by adding depth, world-building, and optional challenges. However, poorly designed or repetitive ones may distract from the main story, breaking pacing and reducing overall engagement.

Whether side quests strengthen or distracts from the game depend on multiple factors and the most important one is side quest itself. What kind of quest it is and whether it gives different experience or not.
