Turn-Based Games: Old-School or Timeless?

Series like Final Fantasy and XCOM show turn-based still has fans. Do you enjoy the slower, strategic pacing, or do you find it outdated compared to real-time combat systems? What’s your favorite turn-based game?

I think turn based games are timeless, I don't think they are old school. I believe popularity of some genres never fade away, kit continue to attracts players of different generations. I enjoy turn based games.
