In the past, most games were offline based, which means that for you to play the game with a friend, he or she has to be right there in the same room with you. A lot Haa changed with most online games gaining popularity because one can easily play games with others on the Internet simply by connecting to a server or joining a community.

Do you find playing games online appealing, or do you enjoy playing more offline games?

Yeah it’s mad how much it’s changed when you think about it.

There was something class about playing in the same room back in the day, just chatting rubbish and passing the controller round. Online’s obviously way easier now though, can jump on with mates anytime without leaving the house.

I’d say I’m more online these days just because it’s convenient, but offline still hits different when you get a good story game or you’re chilling on your own.

Depends on the mood really. What about you?

I still feel the buzz that comes with being in the same room with friends playing a particular game feels different. Nothing comes close to that with what we experience playing online.

Yes, online gaming has helped people to play games wherever they are and whenever they are in the mood to do so, but it is nothing compared to the bonds that is built when I played my friends, Mark and Johnson, back in those days.

Mostly offline for me. If a game has a good single-player campaign that's where I'm spending my time. I'll do online for specific things — Valheim with a couple of mates works well, or something competitive when I'm in the right headspace for it. But I'm not grinding ranked matches after a closing shift. That's asking a bit much.

Depends on the game. Valorant and Apex are obviously online — that's the whole point. But anything story-driven I want offline, no interruptions. The games that bolt on online requirements to a single-player title are the annoying ones. Looking at you basically every live service game from 2020 onwards.

Honestly it depends. Rust is basically my default for online — Damo and I have clocked hundreds of hours and it never really gets old. But Sons of the Forest I played most of solo because Damo bailed after about an hour and I wasn't stopping. Both modes have their place. Some games just make more sense with someone else and some you actually want the quiet.

Aside from Helldivers 2, most of the live service game options sucks. I would say that's the only one that the team in charge came close to doing very well. It was actually welcomed by a large part of the community, too.
