Modern open-world games and the illusion of content

Fallout 4 is probably the first one where I really noticed it. Spent 80 hours on it and looking back, at least a third of that was the same four-room raider settlement with a different map label. Witcher 3 has filler too but when it's good it earns the padding. Most modern stuff doesn't bother...

Is playing Rocket League still worth it?

Not really my kind of game if I'm honest. Tried it a couple of times but the ceiling on it is pretty high and I don't have the patience for it after a long job. If you're already into it though I'd imagine it's still worth it.

Have you ever slept off while gaming?

Yeah more than once lol. There's something about late night gaming where your body just gives up on you. Usually happens when I'm grinding something repetitive. Brain checks out before I even realize it.

Discussion What are the best 5 single-player games of all time?

Hard to pick just 5 but off the top of my head: Red Dead 2, The Witcher 3, Dark Souls 3, Disco Elysium, and Half-Life 2. Those are games I'd replay any day. What gets me with single player is the storytelling — multiplayer will never replicate that.

Discussion What's your best gaming console?

Grew up on PlayStation so I've always leaned that way, but I've been PC only for the past few years and there's no going back. The modding, the trainers, the ability to just tweak things however you want — consoles can't touch that.

When last did you play games all night?

Last time was probably about two months ago. Was playing Elden Ring, told myself just one more boss and then suddenly it was 5am. Felt like death the next day but honestly no regrets. Some games just pull you in like that.

Discussion What do you miss from older games?

Split-screen co-op is the big one for me. Used to play split-screen on everything with my brother growing up. Nowadays most games don't even bother. Also game demos. You could actually try a game before buying it. Now everything is trailers and hype cycles and you don't know what you're getting...

    Discussion Introduce Yourself Here

Hey everyone. Name's Jake, just signed up today. I'm mainly a PC gamer, been at it for about 10 years now. Switched over from console a while back and haven't looked back since. My go-to genres are open-world RPGs and survival games. Right now I'm doing another Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough and I...

    Favourite underrated game of 2025?

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for sure. Everyone was talking about the bugs at launch but once those got patched it turned into something special.

Showcase Elden Ring DLC has some insane environments

The Abyssal Woods was terrifying. That whole area felt like a different game. The atmosphere in the DLC is on another level.

Discussion Best Cyberpunk 2077 mods in 2026?

Just reinstalled Cyberpunk after not playing since launch. It's basically a different game now with the updates. What mods are worth adding on top? Looking for quality of life and visual upgrades mainly, not looking to change the core gameplay too much.

Discussion What game have you replayed the most times?

Dark Souls 1. Lost count of how many times I've been through it. Something about the world design keeps pulling me back every year or so.

    PC Baldur's Gate 3 co-op - starting a fresh run

Interested. Done a solo run as well but never tried co-op. Weekend afternoons work for me too.

Showcase Cyberpunk at night with ray tracing is something else

Finally got the path tracing update running stable on my 4080 and Night City at night is jaw dropping. The neon reflections in puddles, the volumetric fog under streetlights. This is what next gen is supposed to look like. Running at about 45fps at 4K with DLSS on Quality. Worth every frame.

Discussion What trainers do you use the most?

Cyberpunk infinite health and no wanted level. Just driving around Night City causing chaos without consequences is pure fun.

Help GPU temperatures hitting 85C while gaming - is this too hot?

Running an RTX 4070 Super and during long sessions of Cities Skylines 2 or Cyberpunk my GPU temps hit 83-85C. Card is only 6 months old. Is this normal or should I be worried? Case is a Meshify C with 3 intake fans and 1 exhaust.

    Request Request: Avowed trainer

Would love a trainer for Avowed. It's a great RPG but the resource grind gets tedious in the late game. Infinite health, stamina, and maybe item duplication would be the main ones I'd want. Great game otherwise, just want to speed through some of the crafting.

Tutorial How to properly undervolt your GPU with MSI Afterburner

Good write up. I did this on my 4060 Ti and got similar results. About 10C drop in temps. The card barely ramps its fans now.

Request GTA V graphics mods comparison - NaturalVision vs QuantV

NaturalVision for gameplay, 100%. QuantV looks insane in screenshots but the performance hit isn't worth it for actual playing in my opinion.
